На протяжении века высказываются все новые и новые предположения о гибели «Титаника». Авторы фильма выдвигают свою сенсационную версию и открывают новые тайны первого и последнего плавания «непотопляемого» «Титаника».

Фильм представляет собой исторический детектив. Главная интрига сюжета — это сопоставление официальной версии и причин, о которых долгое время предпочитали умалчивать. По одной из гипотез, гибель «Титаника» — самая огромная страховая афера прошлого столетия. Авторы представят в фильме подлинные документальные материалы, которые прокомментируют ведущие российские и зарубежные специалисты.

Будут показаны уникальные кадры, сделанные в глубинах Северной Атлантики. К лежащему на дне океана легендарному «Титанику» погружаются два российских глубоководных аппарата «Мир-1» и «Мир-2». На глубину почти четыре километра с поверхности опускают огромную платформу с прожекторами. Лучи света выхватывают из безмолвного океанского мрака носовую часть затонувшего судна.

В качестве безмолвных свидетелей в фильме выступят и подлинные вещи пассажиров «Титаника», поднятые во время последних экспедиций.
